It's not for the $,

not for the praise

not for the summer vacation,

not because its easy,

not because kids are cute, 

not because its always fun. 

 

It's because we care about the future,

It's because we care about our student's lives,

It's because we want to make an impact,

It's because we want to make a difference, 

It's because we see student's potential,

It's because we have hope in our student's abilities to succeed. 

Because we believe that we can help them become their best selves.

 

We know they are more than just note-takers, homework doers, rule followers, and test-takers. 

We know they are the future and we believe in their possiblities.

We acknowledge their innocence and see their fears and doubts.

We know that their lives matter and they deserve the best we can give. 

 

It's not about counting down to 3:30pm each Friday,

It's not about making it to recess time, 

It's not about dropping them at specials for a break.

 

They are little humans capable of so much more than we might think.
